Panamá – 2019

De la Mola Museum seeks to make visible the uses of Molas: an ancient practice of knitting of Gunadul indigenous group in Panama and Colombia. The curatory concept of Mola Museum is to exhibit molas as objects with their own aesthetic values based on Gunadule cosmogony. Through this focus, molas acquire a particular relevance as cultural work: not just related to traditional garments of Gunadul women, but becoming pieces that transcend their utilitarian function and become objects for contemplation and awareness for safeguarding and promotion of diverse intangible cultural practices of humanity.
