Dancer, dance anthropologist and dance educator. In 2014 she completed the International Master Choreomundus in Dance Knowledge, Practice and Heritage. From 2015 she works with Associazione Jaya in Bologna, Italy, teaching and performing the Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam and working through bodies with several minorities and vulnerable Groups across Italy. Her methodology is called “active narration”: drawing from the narrative component of Bharatanatyam she uses codified hand gestures (mudra) and facial expressions (abhinaya) to guide vulnerable subjects throughout a process of storytelling, which starts with traditional myths and ends with personal and collective stories and memories.
